JUNIOR PROGRAMME : Introduction
Developing junior golf is vital for the future success of Malaysian golf. Not only do champion golfers come from junior ranks so will new club members, committee members, golf administrators and golf consumers.
More junior golfers playing and learning golf today will be necessary for those in the golf industry to continue building and establishing their business interests in years to come.
In today's business minded society golf has become the sport of choice for adults and this is being passed on to their children. The long term benefits of learning golf at a young age will carry through into their senior years. It can be a place for business as well as a recreational activity.
JUNIOR PROGRAMME : Junior Player Development Programme
Nine levels of Curriculum. This proven method of coaching juniors, places each student into a
Level according to their ability. Each level gets progressively more
detailed and demanding. To advance to the next level, students are
Required to pass a verbal test and skills test. When level 6 is achieved,
students will have the option of playing 9 holes each week with the
Coaching of an instructor. On completion of level 9, students will be
invited to become a Junior Golf Instructor.
Education in the Six Pillars of Character. As students advance through each level they are required to verbalize
examples of RESPECT, CARING, RESPONSIBILITY, FAIRNESS, TRUSTWORTHINESS, and CITIZENSHIP as they apply to golf,
school, home, and in public. This character building exercise instills the
values that juniors need to succeed on the golf course and in life.
Training in the Eight Traits of Champions of Champion Golfers.
Beginning in level six, students will be trained to think and behave
like champion golfers. They will be tested in FOCUS, SELF SUFFICIENCY, DOMINENCE, TOUGHMINDEDNESS,
ABSTRACT THINKING, SELF CONFIDENCE, EMOTIONAL STABILITY, AND OPTIMUM AROUSAL as they apply to golf.
Weekly “Practice with the Pro” sessions. These scheduled sessions are designed for ongoing student support. Juniors have the option of participating in these supervised practice sessions for RM$25.00 which includes range balls.
